Elsa, is the eldest daughter of the King and Queen of Arendelle. As the eldest, she has to take over the responsibility of taking over the kingdom when both of her parents died on a shipwreck.
In her younger years, her powers of creating ice and snow has been known to Ann, her sister. They both enjoyed playing in the snow and creating a snowman, while their parents were asleep. But one accident changed everything. She accidentally hit Anna's head, and her parents thought that preventing everyone, including Anna, from knowing about her powers was the best thing to do. They told Elsa that she has to learn how to control her powers, but she was having a hard time doing so, because her fears only makes it strong.
On the day of her coronation, Elsa and Anna had a heated argument which provoked Elsa to show her powers in front of the crowd. Afraid, she ran to the mountains where she created her own palace.
